Ride the Waves

Our coastal destination is home to world-class watersports, and there are a variety of ways to get in on the action. Learn to surf during a lesson with a certified instructor from WB Surf Camp, perfect for children, teens and adults. Choose from day camps, private lessons, group lessons and more, and gear up for a day of movement in Wrightsville Beach’s crystal blue waters.

Go under the sea with one of the area’s diving companies to discover offshore reefs, ledges, shipwrecks and underwater habitats in the waters surrounding Wrightsville Beach. The perfect motion-based activity for history lovers, keep your eyes peeled for prehistoric Megalodon teeth found beneath the waves.

Experience everything Wrightsville Beach has to offer with a stand up paddleboarding (SUP) lesson or tour from Wrightsville SUP. A great way to get the whole family out and about, a SUP excursion is a fun and easy way to travel along Wrightsville Beach’s calm waters.

Take the helm with a sailing lesson from Wrightsville Performance Sailing or the Blockade Runner’s Sailing School, where you’ll soon be navigating the water with confidence. With the help of experienced instructors, learn sailing lingo, basic knots, basic sailing maneuvers and more.

Or, embark on a cruise aboard the Carolina Runner with Blockade Runner Surf to Sound Adventures. Options include a day trip to nearby Masonboro Island, where you can get your move on discovering the longest undisturbed barrier island ecosystem in southern North Carolina once you arrive. The area’s only resort with surf to sound amenities also offers a variety of activities and lessons to keep you active from surf to sound.

Pedal On

If staying on land is more your speed, set out on two wheels to get the whole family moving and find adventure along the way. With a rental from one of our area outfitters, you’ll be equipped for a bike ride around the island in no time.
