Kick off the season at Wrightsville Beach Park on Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m. for the Annual Holiday Kick Off and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Bundle up in your coziest sweater to watch the tree sparkle, listen to carolers and live music, sip hot cocoa and say hi to Santa.

After, drive (or walk) around to see the creative displays from the town’s Holiday Decorating Contest, featuring everything from classic lights to over-the-top holiday scenes. Check the Town of Wrightsville Beach website for past winners and must-see streets. Once you’ve made your rounds, settle in for a seasonal seafood feast at King Neptune, right behind last year’s Most Traditional winner.

Don’t miss Enchanted Airlie at Airlie Gardens Nov. 28 to Dec. 21 – a beloved holiday tradition and fundraiser that sells out fast! Grab a cup of hot cocoa and stroll past illuminated sculptures, trees and displays. For a quieter evening, head to Harbor Way Gardens along The Loop to see festive lights, local art and native plants, plus wreaths and decorations all around town (courtesy of the Harbor Island Garden Club).

Holiday Flotilla Fun

Get into the coastal holiday spirit at the NC Holiday Flotilla at Wrightsville Beach on Nov. 29! Start at the Day at the Park festival at Wrightsville Beach Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., where you’ll find local eats, bounce houses and an antique car show. Then, stick around for the main event: the lighted boat parade. Watch dozens of holiday-themed boats cruise around the island, and text to cast your vote for the People’s Choice and Crowd Favorite awards. Don’t miss festive fireworks to round out the evening!

Pro tip: Plan to park at Wrightsville Beach Park before the drawbridge opens at 6 p.m., and check out this map for the best spots to watch the parade.

It’s never too early (or late!) for holiday shopping. Stop by Hallelu Boutique for chic gifts, or pop into a surf shop for skate or surf gear. New Year Celebrations

Ring in 2026 at Bluewater’s New Year’s Eve Bash along the Intracoastal Waterway. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., dance to live music, munch on complimentary bar bites and toast the new year from a waterfront balcony. This event is for those ages 21 and up. Advance dinner reservations make the night extra special (and party tickets sell fast!), so be sure to plan ahead.

Feeling extra bold? Take the plunge at the annual Plunging into the New Year, when brave souls dive into the Atlantic from Wrightsville Beach Accesses #36 and #37. If you’d rather stay dry, cheer from the shore or Crystal Pier, then head to Oceanic Restaurant’s epic and delicious after-party.
